Caramel Corn
Yield:
6 quarts of popcorn
Ingredients:
- 2 Batches of ½ cup popcorn (popped)
- 3 Tablespoons Oil
- 2 Cups Brown Sugar
- ½ Cup Corn Syrup
- 2 Sticks Margarine
- ¼ tsp. Cream of Tartar
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
Directions:
- Place brown sugar, corn syrup, butter cream
of tartar, and salt in a large pan. Bring to a boil.
- Stir over medium heat (260° on candy
thermometer).
- Remove from heat. Stir well.
- Add baking soda. Stir.
- Pour over corn. Mix well.
- Bake at 250° for 1 hour. Stir every 15
minutes. Spread on waxed paper.
