It was a very long day on the
road, but we broke it up with a couple stops. The first was the Uion Pacific
rail yards in North Platte, NE where they have the largest number of trains
going through in the world (according to our friendly hosts).

An interesting bit of
information. Did you know that new rail lines are now being fitted with
concrete ties instead of wood? See the picture below.

Sharon also suggested that we
stop by Kearny, NE where she has had church cookbooks produced in year's past.
She made out with 11 cookbooks for $25 plus tax...not shabby. Dinner was at
Biffle's BBQ in Concordia, MO. We're laying our heads down for the night in St.
Charles, MO.
Tomorrow we head home.
