It was a beautiful, warm day in Yellowstone. Below are some pictures that we took. The first is a bald eagle across the Madison River as we left West Yellowstone this morning.

Snow melt at the trailhead to Bunsen Peak.

Tower Falls

A black female wolf running through Lamar Valley passing three pronghorn antelope.

The picnic area near the Northeast Entrance where we ate lunch.

Ground squirrels that entertained us during lunch.

A Prognhorn resting in the warm sunshine.

Mama bison and her little one drinking from snow melt in Little America.

Bighorn Sheep

Black bear near Rainy Lake.

The snowplow means that Dunraven Pass is scheduled to be open this Memorial Day weekend.

Elk

Sharon predicts that this will be the next victim of the wolf pack near mammoth. It has a broken left rear leg.

Great Blue Heron at the Firehole River

Some photos from Black Sand Basin

Bison stirring up dust and head-butting at the entrance to Old Faithful.

And here is Old Faithful herself in all her glory.

We have one more night (after tonight) in West Yellowstone and then we'll be heading to Gardiner for two nights.
