The road between Tower and Canyon is only open during the Summer. We were fortunate to be there when they opened a few weeks early. Mt. Washburn (pictured below) is a popular hiking destination. You can barely make out the observation tower on the top. People often spot bears, bighorn sheep and other animals on the path.
You will find snow on the road even when the temperatures are warmer at lower elevations. Here's Kevin throwing a snowball wearing shorts.
The scenery is spectacular along this drive toward Canyon. You can so for such very long distances. By now you are beginning to realize how big this park is and we've barely started on this journey.
