Tybee and Skidaway Islands, GA

The following are pictures of the lighthouse on Tybee Island, GA.

I stopped to take a picture of these sea birds and they were watching me like a hawk!

This bird snatched an urchine or some other sea creature from the water line.

This ship was coming into the Savannah port. The rocks are from the Tybee Island jetties.

This tree-lined road was the entrance to Wormslow Historical site on Skidaway Island where outer walls of
Noble Jones' 1700's plantation still stand near the marshes.

This is about all that is left after 265 years. The walls were constructed of sea shells.
This site is significant in that it is the only structure remaining in Savannah from the Oglethorpe era (1733-1743).

This is the grave site of one of the Jones' family. This was large, concrete and above-the-ground.

Once again it was a joy to drive back through this canopy of moss and fern-covered trees on my way out.
