Gracie @ 6 Weeks

We added to our family of Labradoodles today. Our friends, Sue and Dale, lovingly gave us pick of the litter and we came home with a 7.6 pound black curly-haired female F1B. For those unfamiliar with that designation, it means that her dad is a Labradoodle (1/2 lab and 1/2 poodle) and her mom is a standard poodle.

Below is a picture of the litter. All were black but one (not too hard to pick out the creme). Some had thin, short, straight hair and others had long and curly hair, taking after both dad and mom. Jasper, the dad, looks a lot like our Hershey.

Below is Sophie, the proud mom. To the right is Emma. She was adopted today as well. Except for the different colored collars it was hard to tell the difference between Emma and Gracie.

It was love at first sight for Sharon and Gracie.

After a 2-hour ride home our little girl needed to stretch her legs in the front yard. She was about to meet her new big brother and sister -- oh boy!

It was a little overwhelming at first and Gracie rolled over in submission, but then she started feeling comfortable around Hershey and Charlie and started showing some real personality.

Sue said that the babies liked water, but I didn't expect Gracie to go head first into the big dog's water bowl.

Hershey has been watching Gracie from the sidelines mostly, but Charlie is always a half-step behind her. He is really fascinated by this new little friend and wants to play. Of course, he is almost 14 times her size so we are watching their play very closely.

Here are the three of them together with Sharon. Yes, it is hard to keep the hill covered in pinestraw with big doodles.

Here's one last look at Gracie before we call it a night.
