Doodle Update1-20-2009It has been some time since my last update on the "doods." Hershey and Charlie are now 2-years old and Gracie is a couple days short of 8-months old. Gracie has been growing like a weed, but we suspect that she will remain our smallest pooch, perhaps only getting to be 55 pounds. Hershey still hovers around 70 and Charlie around 100+. They enjoy the yard although it has taken a real beating with these three horses trampling down the grass, chewing on trees and digging up shrubs. Oh well... it's their domain. However, they are quick to remind us that they are inside dogs too. When it gets dark or cold out, Hershey will bark to let us know that it's time to come in. They have a basket of toys to play with in the house, but their favorite toy is always the one that the other doodle is playing with. They sleep in individual crates in the lower level of the house -- again, their domain. Gracie loves to play "catch me if you can." She will grab a toy or stick and taunt one of the other dogs until they start chasing her. Outside that means running between trees, around the stairs, through the bushes, etc. Inside that means running around furniture, over the humans, under the tables, etc. Gracie is fast but Hershey and Charlie have patience and strategy working for them. We love our "babies" as you can tell. Below are some pictures from this evening. Hershey and Gracie in the backyard. Gracie looking over the deck gate. Charlie and Gracie playing chase in the house. Charlie Hershey and Gracie sharing a rope knot. Charlie with his own rope knot. Hershey shredding her rope knot... ...and showing us how hairy she's gotten with her winter coat. Charlie is our gently giant. Look at that sweet face. Oh no... I spoke too soon. Gracie checking out Hershey's toy. Hershey checking out what was for supper. Charlie checking out the camera. Princess Gracie strutting her stuff. Charlie coming back upstairs after checking for the second time to see if his food bowl had magically filled up since the last trip down 10-minutes earlier.
