July 3, 2010 Food & FireworksOn Friday evening we enjoyed a trip to Stone Mountain Park with Terri and Jason. On Saturday evening we met Kevin, Rebekah, Kristen, David and Logan at Spaghetti Warehouse in Marietta for an Italian banquet. We then drove north to Kennesaw for fireworks where we met up at the city park. Before the fireworks started, Logan was having a blast playing on the slides. And Rebekah was playing with his Buzz Lightyear action figure. While Kevin, who is working night and day at camp, is wondering when he's going to get the same attention. Poor Kevin. Maybe if Kevin climbed around like a monkey then people would notice... or is Logan being a lion? He looks mischievous (and cute at the same time) either way. Here's the rest of the gang. That's grandchild #2 that Kristen's carrying, by the way. Logan had an absolute blast on the swings. He was screaming with delight. And there was even a little tickling going on, adding to the fun. Uncle Kevin was trying to become buds with Logan again. We suspect that Kevin was not recognized at first without his beard. David and Logan battled it out on the lawn of a baseball field with light sabers as the evening light faded away. Rebekah was being creative with cupcakes. Sharon brought all the fixin's for beach decorations. Since this was our first time to the Kennesaw fireworks, we did not know the best place to sit. I guess we should have know that since very few others were sitting in the ballfield that it would not be ideal viewing. There were some trees in the way. However, it was a wonderful place for Logan to run the bases and make new friends with some little girls nearby. He's starting early! We had a great time catching up with Kevin and Rebekah. We'll miss them as they head off to Texas very soon. |
